What graphene changes
An Ethos graphene coating is silica chemistry with graphene oxide added, which is true of essentially every graphene coating on the market. You are not choosing between two unrelated technologies. You are choosing a coating with an additive that changes how the cured layer behaves on the surface.
Two differences show up often enough that owners notice them, and both happen to matter more in Sydney than they would in a drier climate.
Water spotting. Graphene coatings resist the mineral rings left behind when water dries on a panel instead of being dried off. For a car that gets rained on and then baked, this is the difference you will actually see.
Heat dissipation. Graphene spreads heat across the panel instead of letting it concentrate. Less concentrated heat means less thermal stress, and water sitting on a cooler panel is less inclined to bake on in the first place. The two benefits are connected.
Who should choose it
The clearest case is a dark car parked on the street or in an uncovered carport. Sydney summers cycle between blazing sun and afternoon storms, which is precisely the pattern that produces water spotting, and dark paint shows every ring.
If the car lives in a garage and comes out on weekends, a top-tier ceramic will give you more gloss depth for the same money. That is an honest trade rather than a sales position.

What it will not do
It will not stop a stone chip. No coating will. A coating is measured in microns and handles chemical attack, UV and washing, not physical impact, and adding graphene does not change that.
It does not make the car self-cleaning, and it will not survive automatic brush washes. Anyone telling you a coating means you never have to wash the car again is selling something.
Preparation, again
Graphene cures over whatever is underneath exactly like ceramic does. Swirls sealed under a graphene coating are just as sealed in.
So the order is unchanged: decontaminate, correct, panel wipe, coat. The chemistry on top is the smallest variable in whether you are happy in three years.

Is graphene better than ceramic?
Not universally. Graphene resists water spotting better and dissipates heat across the panel. Ceramic holds a small edge on gloss depth and has a longer real-world track record. The preparation underneath affects the outcome far more than the choice between them.
Is a graphene coating worth the extra?
On a dark car parked outside, often yes, because water spotting is the thing you will be looking at every day. On a garaged car it is a harder argument and we will tell you so.
Does graphene really make the car 200 times stronger?
No. That figure describes a single sheet of pure graphene in a laboratory, not a few percent of graphene oxide suspended in a coating and spread across a bonnet. It is real physics doing marketing work it was never meant to do.
Can you put graphene over an existing ceramic coating?
Not meaningfully. A cured coating is not a surface another coating bonds to properly. The old one has to be polished off first, which means correction, which means doing the whole job again.
